If you're new to yoga, we recommend starting with our Hatha Yoga classes, which focus on foundational postures and proper alignment. These classes move at a slower pace, allowing you to learn the basics in a supportive environment.
We also offer Yoga Basics workshops specifically designed for beginners. Check our services page or contact us for upcoming dates.
Absolutely not! Saying you need to be flexible to do yoga is like saying you need to be clean to take a shower. Flexibility is a benefit that comes with consistent practice, not a prerequisite.
Our instructors offer modifications for all levels, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably regardless of flexibility, strength, or fitness level.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Stretchy, breathable fabrics work best. For women, leggings or yoga pants with a comfortable top are ideal. For men, athletic shorts or pants with a t-shirt work well.
Avoid very loose clothing that might get in the way during certain poses or reveal more than intended during inversions. Yoga is practiced barefoot, so no special footwear is needed.
We provide all necessary equipment including mats, blocks, straps, and bolsters. However, you're welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer. We recommend bringing:
Please avoid wearing strong perfumes or colognes out of consideration for those with sensitivities.
While drop-ins are welcome, we recommend registering for classes in advance to secure your spot, especially for our more popular time slots. You can register through our website, mobile app, or by calling the studio.
For workshops and special events, advance registration is required as spaces are limited.
We understand that plans change. For regular classes, please cancel at least 2 hours before class start time to avoid being charged for the session. For workshops and special events, cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for a full refund.

Yes, we have clean, private changing rooms and showers available for your use before and after class. We provide towels, soap, and hair dryers for your convenience.
Please note that the changing rooms and showers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The frequency of your practice depends on your personal goals and schedule. For noticeable improvements in flexibility, strength, and stress reduction, we recommend practicing at least 2-3 times per week.
Even practicing once a week will provide benefits, and many dedicated practitioners choose to practice daily. Listen to your body and find a schedule that feels sustainable for your lifestyle.
While yoga originated in ancient India and has roots in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions, the yoga practiced in most Western studios today is not inherently religious. At SoulVana Yoga, we present yoga as a holistic system for physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing that can complement any faith tradition or secular perspective.
Our classes focus on the universal aspects of yoga: mindful movement, breath awareness, and cultivating presence. You're welcome to engage with the practice in a way that aligns with your own beliefs.
Regular yoga practice offers numerous evidence-based health benefits, including:
Many practitioners also report a greater sense of overall wellbeing and connection.
Yoga can be very beneficial during pregnancy when practiced with appropriate modifications. If you're pregnant, please inform your instructor before class so they can suggest suitable adjustments for your safety and comfort.
We also offer specialized Prenatal Yoga classes designed specifically for expectant mothers. These classes focus on poses that help alleviate common pregnancy discomforts, prepare the body for birth, and create a supportive community of mothers-to-be.
Always consult with your healthcare provider before beginning or continuing any exercise regimen during pregnancy.
